The job that gave me satisfaction

As a child, I wanted to become a doctor, but as I grew older, I developed great interest in Science, particularly in Physics. I obtained a Master’s and later a Doctor’s degree in this subject. A lecture’s job in Staffordshire was offered to me in our University Department and I willingly took it up as it would give me an opportunity to continue research. I can never forget the first day of the job. Though I had prepared my lecture well, the very idea of standing in front of about fifty students was giving me jitters. As I started discussing the subject, my fears disappeared and at the end of the session, I could sense that the students had followed what I had tried to explain. I realized that teaching was something I always wanted to do. I still enjoy teaching even after about thirty long years. I try to explain a topic in the same manner in which I first understand it. Teaching young students makes me feel younger also. I really like my job!
