Volunteering holiday

I spent a fortnight of my summer this year volunteering on a village restoration project in Ethiopia. It really was the experience of a life time and something I am proud to have taken part in. It gave me an enormous sense of achievement helping people that have nothing to live a better life. The only issue I had over there was needing treatment of malaria after I was mauled by mosquitoes but this soon cleared up and it did not put any sort of dampener on the trip. I met some quite remarkable people out there both native and also from different areas of the world that were there for the same reason I was, to do some good and I am only sorry that it was two weeks and not two months!
