I was talking to a friend this morning and he mentioned how he didn’t have a certain popular word processing program on his computer.  My first thought was “You don’t need that.  You can get a full office suite for free!”  I told him about open source software and how many things can often be downloaded at no cost.  I mentioned programs like Open Office and ares and a popular free version of a good antivirus program.  He was surprised to find out how much is available if you take the time to look.  I hope that information helps him expand his computer’s functionality.
